Sweetness

Hay dos cosas que me encantan de Internet: la capacidad que tiene para difundir el trabajo de nuevos talentos y, por supuesto, el poder que tiene para unir a personas que comparten los mismo intereses. Algo así ocurrió entre Angie López y yo. Conocí su trabajo gracias a las bellísimas fotografías que tomó de algunas amigas mías, después ella me envió una solicitud de amistad y en seguida conectamos. La sesión de fotos improvisada en su habitación de Barcelona no se hizo esperar. Antes de subir a su casa compramos flores y una vez allí, Angie desplegó todo su arsenal girly: papel de regalo, eyeliner de colores, botes de purpurina, iluminadores y telas de encaje. De repente, éramos dos chicas jugando con una cámara y los rayos de luz que entraban por la ventana. ¿El resultado final? Una colección de preciosos retratos que irradian magia. Cuando haces algo con gente como ella, te das cuenta de que las grandes producciones, a veces, no son necesarias. Con pocos recursos y el enorme talento de Angie como fotógrafa, las imágenes consiguen hablar por sí mismas. No puedo esperar a volver a ponerme frente su obejtivo. ¡Gracias bonita!

There are two things I love about the Internet: the capacity of spreading others work around the globe and, of course, the power it has to gather people with similar interests. Something like that happened between Angie Lopez and myself. I met her photography work through some beautiful shots she took of a few friends of mine, after that she sent me a friend request and inmediately we connected. The improvised photo shoot in her bedroom came swiftly. Before we started shooting, we bought some fresh flowers and once in her room Angie displayed all her girly arsenal: gift wrap, gold eyeliner, some jars of glitter, highlighter and lace fabrics. Suddenly, we were two girls playing with a camera and the sun rays coming through the balcony. The final result? A gorgeous collection of portraits radiating magic. When you get to shoot with someone like her you realize that, sometimes, huge productions are not necessary. You know what I mean? Her amazing talent was more than enough.
